Lake Atitlan is a peaceful yet vibrant place high in the Western highlands of Guatemala. Nature rules here and living around this natural splendor helps keep one in touch with a simpler way of living.

My life around the Mayan people is never boring and having been here through both war and peace and seeing all the transition that is occurring as Guatemala becomes more connected, the thing that remains constant is their openness and tolerance of foreigners and their ability to smile and laugh and engage with others.

I am happy to bring people here to gain their own experiences and impressions. I highly recommend that you allow yourself another week to stay around the lake and have your own Guatemalan experience.
